Voice for Nyala started by Elena Ghizzo and Claire McDonald, is a UK campaign in support of Italians for Darfur ONLUS.
Voice for Nyala wants to be the voice for the voiceless causes, connecting artists that want to give their talent and help with urgent and direct causes, as we strongly believe that music is the most efficient tool to make a real change.

The first project that Voice for Nyala is working for is to pay the medical expenses to cure the most seriously sick children of Nyala, and to rebuild thehospital of Nyala (Darfur, Sudan).
Background: the doctors in the hospital in Nyala do not have the necessary means and structures to cure them. There is the immediate need of an adequate structure and assistance, and since the Emergency Pediatric Centre has been closed down, there is no other place where patients with serious pathologies can be cured. We are now focusing on the most serious cases, that need immediate treatment, before starting fundraising for the longer term project of rebuilding the Nyala hospital.
On the 10th of December 2012, The UN has provided an humanitarian flight to the first five children with the relatives that accompanied them to Khartoum. The cost for the medical treatments at the Royal Care International are covered by Italians for Darfur ONLUS, and here Voice for Nyala is giving its support. Thanks to Voice for Nyala's first two fundraising events, the first four children have been fully cured. The fifth child will need to stay in Khartoum for more six months to get fully treated. There are now three other children that are ready to leave to Khartoum with the UN flight, as soon as Voice for Nyala raises the necessary funds to cover the expenses for their treatment.
The longer term project of Voice for Nyala is to rebuild the hospital in Nyala, and the campaign to fundraise the necessary donations will start as soon as the children in need of immediate treatment will all have been cured in Khartoum.

The outstanding artists that gave their voice for Nyala on the stage of Noliass11 were Peter Grant, The Stylophones, Elena Ghizzo, Rebecca Poole, Lizzie Deane, Nairn Purss, Zoe Devlin and Mama Nolia. The first event of Voice for Nyala has been a real success, with such a talented line-up, wonderful and generous audience, and such an empowering atmosphere, that makes us think this is only the beginning of a change.

On the 15th of January 2013 at Top Jazz Club Nolias11 there have been the second event of Voice for Nyala, to keep on raising funds for the medical treatment of five seriously sick children of Nyala. On this second event, outstanding artists will be giving their Voice for Nyala: to name a few, Jem Cooke, Austin, Elena Ghizzo, Zoe Devlin, Mama Nolia, Roachie, and a very very very special guest: the Croatian superstar Gibonni! Danny Clifford, one of the world top photographers, was the official photographer of the night. Mark Kostabi, contemporary art icon, has donated six of his paintings to the project, and these artworks have been auctioned.
